Questions and answers
Which parts of the EU AI Act may apply to my AI product?
Risk Screening is a free EU AI Act checker. Enter your website or one sentence about your product, and see which of four parts of the Act may apply: banned uses (Article 5), high-risk (Article 6, Annex III and Annex I), transparency (Article 50) and general-purpose AI models (Chapter V). Your answers decide each part.
Is my AI system high-risk?
It may be if it is used for a purpose listed in Annex III, such as recruitment, managing workers, access to education or credit scoring, or if it is a safety part of a product covered by Annex I. The screening asks about your use and shows whether the high-risk part may apply.
Does my chatbot have to say it is an AI?
Article 50 says people must be told they are dealing with an AI system, unless that is obvious from the context.
Which AI uses does the Act ban?
Article 5 bans practices such as manipulation that causes significant harm, social scoring, and untargeted scraping of facial images.
Is this the official EU AI Act checker?
No. It is an independent tool by Astroware. The European Commission runs its own checker on the AI Act Service Desk.
Is it free?
Yes, and it needs no sign-up.
