The two checks

Ranking workers or candidates

Built to block output that would rank workers or candidates.

Inferring their emotions from their face, voice or body

Built to block output that claims to read a worker's emotional state. The Act bans AI that infers emotions in the workplace, except for medical or safety reasons (Article 5(1)(f)), and defines emotion recognition by reference to biometric data (Article 3(39)). HaloGuard EU is a text-level control: it does not inspect biometric systems.

The EU AI Act dates that matter here

2 December 2027Rules for high-risk AI listed in Annex III apply. The list includes AI used in employment and workers' management.
